What is the target heart
rate?
Your target heart rate is a
reference point for training
within predetermined zones.
Why is monitoring your heart
rate important?
Monitoring your heart rate is an
easy way to reduce your chance
of injury, prevent over- or
under-training, ensure you're
getting a good workout, track
fitness gains, and increase your
chances of getting the results
you want.
Beachbody workouts are designed
so that you don't have to tailor
your exercise to stay in a heart
rate “zone,” but learning about
zones can still be beneficial.
This is especially true when you
begin to take your workouts
outside—like when hiking,
running, biking, etc.—or start
adding workouts to your
Beachbody program. When you do
this, learning to recognize
zones will keep your body from
hitting a plateau.
It's important to note that
knowing these zones does not
help you unless you're willing
to learn why they exist and what
they are for. Please refer to
the article How To Use Your
Heart Rate Monitor
for more information.
